Fondata nel 1937 a Milano, Mapei oggi è il maggior produttore mondiale di adesivi e prodotti complementari per la posa di pavimenti e rivestimenti di ogni tipo ed è anche specialista in altri prodotti chimici per l’edilizia come impermeabilizzanti, malte speciali e additivi per calcestruzzo, prodotti per il recupero degli edifici storici.
La produzione Mapei si riassume in questi dati: 2,3 miliardi di euro è il fatturato totale del 2014; oltre 7500 sono i dipendenti diretti del Gruppo.

Founded in Milan in 1937, Mapei is today the world leader in the production of adhesives and complementary products for the installation of all types of floor and wall coverings. The company is also specialized in other chemical products for building: from waterproofers to special mortars, from admixtures for concrete to products for the restoration of ancient buildings.
Mapei Group’s production may be summarized as follows: total sales in 2014 are 2.3 billion euros and the total number of Mapei Group employees is 7500. Mapei has built its strategy along three principal guidelines:
SPECIALIZATION in technologically advanced products; RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT: every year Mapei invests 5% of its annual turnover and employs 12% of its workforce in research; INTERNATIONALIZATION: since the 1960’s the strategy is always the same: maximum proximity to the needs of local markets and reduction of logistic costs to a minimum.
